Greetings, everyone.
So, as I might have previously stated, both of my Marios (One with equipment, one without) and my Dr. Mario are among my strongest amiibo, but they seem to have one small issue.
Compared to some Marios I've seen, mine don't use DownSmash that much, but the issue is that they seem to think that the range is longer than it actually is. This can lead to them using DownSmash to no effect, and when the Vanilla Mario fights my Vanilla Dr. Mario, they can sometimes even get locked in a phase where they're both in the range at which they'll use DownSmash, yet nobody takes damage. 2 to 3 DownSmashes later, they'll realize their combat strategy isn't working and they switch things up again. My Mario that has equipment is also affected by this and he seems pretty stubborn on keeping that habit.
Am I the only one with my Mario and Dr. Mario who do that?

Don't worry, it's not your fault. Mario and Dr. Mario are programmed to use this move often. It's possible to get them to stop, but if they're doing it very often, I would say you should get them to focus on it more.

I've had the same problem
You could probably try a couple of different things. One being that you make sure your (Dr.)Mario is punished more often when using the move, the other is doing a team battle with the amiibo and influencing them to try something else.
That should do the trick- it worked for me!
