A question I can't test on my own due to lack of equipment (sorry). I've been wondering, Cloud says that defense is key (and I agree) but I also considered the 200 atk, 120 def and -200 spd setup. I had originally put this setup on my Lil' Mac, and he smashed. He even beat my 2 best amiibo; Ness and Mr Game & Watch, who were very aggressive. Then after reading up about defense, I changed him to 40 all stats. He did... slightly less well. Now, I understand this would be stupid on some amiibo like Olimar, but on certain characters that have powerful attacks that they can use frequently, could it be really powerful? Some examples of Amiibo I think are viable are Little Mac, Bowser, Ganondorf or R.O.B. But do you think it is actually better, sacrificing balanced stats for more attack and less speed?

Time for amiibo fun facts!
When you give an amiibo new stats and bonuses, it will take a bit of time for them to get used to them. That means they will play worse.
The setup IMO is NOT viable on Little Mac. Sure, it may get lots of KOS, but do you remember how bad Little Mac's recovery is? If hes knocked off stage, SLIGHTLY, he dies. Bowser and Ganondorf, viable, and idk about ROB.
Hindering speed also hinders their jump (recovery) and their reaction time. This means they cant counter attack as good as others can.
TL;DR Your Little Mac was worse for a reason, the setup isnt too viable but it can be, and hinders some of their abilities. My Lucario was given this setup, and he was dominated by all my amiibos. I plan on resetting him and retraining him with a updated Lucario guide.
