So, a common debate I have IRL is about how stats should be distributed. I usually lean towards attack and defense with speed usually going into the negatives. My friend tends to always max out his amiibos' stats, like +200, +120, and -200 (not necessarily in that order). So I was wondering how you guys usually distribute stats and what's the most important stat to you.

Depends on the set and amiibo. I personally prefer 40/40/40 as all stats would get a boost and each stat has usefulness. It's my default go-to.

I usually go for a build based somewhere around 60/100/-40, but it can change depending on the amiibo.

That's a good question...
For me, personally, I put too much thought into each of my amiibo for me to have a go-to setup. If I did have to pick stats that'd I mess around with first though, it'd definitely be speed and power.

Noticed plenty of my trained are also 40/70/10 or of some variant.

Really all depends. 40/70/10 is my starting point, and I sometimes make adjustments according to character. Fast light guys like Greninja don't need that piddling amount of extra SPE, so they get 40/80/0 or 60/60/0 (Lucario gets 0/120/0 because he's rockin two ImpTOA's). Slow heavy guys like Dedede benefit greatly from a little extra speed, so I go with 40/60/20, 40/40/40 or 30/60/30. The only amiibo I overclock (200/120/-200) is ROB, because he has a reliable enough Up-B for recovery that makes up for his handicapped jumping ability.

Lucario is also a perfect candidate for overload 200/120/-200. When his Aura kicks in, his Up-B can recover from anywhere. Clear across the stage even.

R.O.B. is one of those amiibo I have just not figured out yet. He's so weird, because all of his strengths are his weaknesses as well.

Why I haven't before is beyond me. I've tried Overloaded on R.O.B. It didn't go too well. He always recovered above the ledge, leaving him open to forward and up smashes.

I've always been worried about overloading because of recovery, but this sounds like a good idea. I need to retrain my Lucario so I may try a 120/200/-200 set.

My Lucario has zero recovery problems with the overload setup. It may take him a bit to understand how to use it, and you'll see a few random SD's. Even though it looks cool, do not use ExtremeSpeed, his Up-B, as an attack. If he misses, which is likely, he will go flying off the level. Had it happen. Check this match for example, 2:15 mark:
Even if you don't use it as an attack, it won't stop your amiibo from trying it. With my Lucario, it's rare as he's learned his lesson.
