So recently, I restarted my Roy Amiibo to retrain him because he had a habit of spamming his up special against almost anyone, which always made him lose matches. And now, he managed to singlehandedly 2 stock almost ALL of my amiibo! Soooo, I decided to share with you exactly how I did it.
From levels 1-25, I had him train with my best amiibo, Grolla, the Lucina amiibo. He pretty much learned the basics from her.
Levels 25-40 I had him do dittos against me. I kept it specific and only used side special, forward smash for reads, and counter for reads. The key here is to NOT use your up special and hit him, or hit him with Up Special while you recover. Also, don't get hit when he does it. If any of those 3 happen, restart the match, because if you continue, he will develop the spamming habit.
From levels 40-50, he trained with Raimund, my Marth amiibo. This was just to round off his overall training with a top tier amiibo.
And then the real test comes in. I had him fight against every amiibo I had with me at the time.
Roy beat Lucina Roy beat Marth Roy beat Bowser 2 Roy beat Bowser 3 Roy beat Yoshi 1 Roy beats Yoshi 2 Roy beat Dark Pit Roy beat Ike Roy beat Robin Roy beat Megaman Roy beat ROB Roy beat Lucario Roy beat Pit
Roy lost to Charizard Roy lost to Bowser 1 AKA King Koopa.
I'm proud because his up special spam was fixed against these foes, only throwing them out once or twice a match, if not at all.

Hey, this is rad. Since I got a powersaves, I'm totally okay with restarting my Roy and doing it this way. Do you have the ability to send amiibo data? Because I'd love to test out your Grolla.

I do, but not at this moment. My uncle's phone has the ability, but he's at work so I'd have to wait for him to come back and ask him. I also forgot to mention that I did this all on heavy gravity.

Ah, I'm on a 3ds so that's not an option for me anyway, BUT, I can probably just train him by being grounded myself.

It may be good to use, but for an amiibo, it's a big no, so try not to hit with or get hit by it.

Mind telling me his setup?

Mind telling me his setup? 60/100/-40 with Critical, Lifesteal, and ImpEscapability. Just like Grolla!

It's not a bad move, I just wish he wouldn't spam it. It's bad for him because he relies on it too much, which can get him punished. As long as he doesn't spam it against you as the player, it won't be a problem when he fights other amiibo.

Mine has the same abilities, but his stats are 45/75/0. My Marth usually wins most matches because he's always grounded. He approaches with his side special, which usually lands 7/10. The negative 40 speed isn't bad, in my opinion, because it doesn't really hurt them at all. Grolla wins a lot of matches with that set up, despite the negative speed. And she's usually the hoppy one.

I agree with Cloud on a lot of Amiibo things, but I think ignoring aerials on some amiibo is a waste of their best moves (Ike, Marth, etc.) They shouldn't prioritize them, but I taught my Marth how to edge guard and gimp with his fair. I like your spread, too. I'd want to play around with the negative speeds or maybe put even more in attack, like 70/90/-40. Could net those early kills. I really love Roy with Lifesteal because when he does use his up-smash, it's multihit and restores a ton of health.

Let's not forget about the Critical Hit + Lifesteal counter that could potentially restore up to 200+ percent!
