I have tried many ways to train my amiibo. Following guides is a good start, but ultimately everyone finds their own style to train. Part of my training comes from "seasons" where I pit each amiibo against another in a single game 1 v 1 match, no items, random omega stage. I haven't done one in a while due to me training up 5 pokemon amiibo to prepare for AWT 6. This weekend, I finally decided to do another season. Here are the results directly from my notebook: As you can see, Fox and Pikachu are pretty bad. I'm disappointed with Mario and his performance. Mewtwo has 2 fluke victories in this, one over Charizard, where Charizard attempted to Dragon Rush Mewtwo too close to the edge of the platform and SD'd. A similar thing happened to Lucario vs Mewtwo, one that I showed in a video in another thread with that same Lucario vs Greninja. Lucario decided to use Extreme Speed to attack Mewtwo while standing on the platform. Mewtwo dodged and Lucario went flying and SD'd. Without those flukes, Charizard would have been undefeated and Mewtwo and Lucario would switch places in the final rankings. If you are curious, the tallies at the end are the stocks they took.

That's incredible dude, and really well put together too!
I'm impressed, big time.
I'd do stuff like this, but, uh, 60+ amiibo. It'd take hours...
Also, its surprising how well your Villager and Dr. Mario do. Those aren't names you usually see doing well.

Villager was trained for AWT 5 and is the only amiibo in the season packing Explosive Perfect Shield. So she has some things working to her advantage. Dr. Mario actually finished 3rd in Season 6, which was probably an aberration. 10th, top of the bottom or bottom of the middle is about right for him.

I didn't subject my Diddy Kong or my Ryu to the season yet. Both are level 50 but they are vanilla. With rumors of AWT 7 potentially being a vanilla tournament, I didn't want to have to reset anyone.

Good plan, I think Ryu will serve you well in a vanilla tourney.

Your chart would look better in Microsoft Office Excel.

Your chart would look better in Microsoft Office Excel. I know. But pencil and paper is fun.

Using this data allows me to run numbers. Some I found fairly interesting. The biggest surprise was Greninja, who took a stock in 80% of his losses, meaning despite losing 10 times, 8 of those matches were 2-1 losses. Meaning that Greninja is surprisingly competitive and may be on the cusp of greatness. This also attributes to what I thought were random losses my amiibo were having to Greninja. My Greninja keeps matches close, even though he doesn't always win them. Going back to what I think TheEleh had posted, Greninjas seem to be pretty bad in a 50/50 situation. This appears to be empirical data to support that.
Lucario also had an 80% rate, which shows his competitiveness, but he clearly had a better run than Greninja.
The biggest disappointment was Gannondorf. He only took stocks in 33% of his losses. So 2/3 of the time, he lost 2-0. That's not good. Granted, in many ways, he's an all or nothing character. But this shows he is in need of some training.

I should do this with my amiibo... But I fear Grolla would wipe everyone out with no losses.

I'd do this, but I'm too lazy. When I'm not being lazy, I'm busy being busy with busy work. Makes sense, right?

Trained up my Mii fighters and started up Season 8 this weekend. I'm about 1/3 to halfway through. However, I wanted to share this video.

She is so weird. Sometimes, she goes Killager mode and we get matches like that, which I like. Sometimes, not so much. We'll see how she does in WAS1.
