And don't forget: the plural of amiibo is amiibo

Yes, you read it right: this is a Slice of Life thread in the Amiibo Training Discussion section. In this thread, you can tell everyone about how your Little Mac broke your other amiibo's shield 3 times in a row, or you can just list everything you've achieved in the world of amiibo recently. I'll start. Today, it was my first experience with a Coin Army. I made them fight while I was sleeping, but when I had to go to school, I wanted their battle to last longer. So I activated the Special Flag item. When I came back from school 8 hours later, the battle was still on and they all still had 99 lives. A waste of time! I made a post on Miiverse so you can see by yourself how ridiculous this is. The best/worst part of this is, right after that, I was so upset that I decided to scan all my amiibo and see if they had any equipment to give me. Surprisingly, my Ike amiibo had just what I was looking for. It's been a long day for me.
Oh, by the way, you can check out my Miiverse journal if you have free time to spare.

Told you it would work! But.... That match must have been the longest match I've ever heard of.

So, when I trained my Ganon using Cloud's guide, I thought about how much damage he could do with a fully charged F-Smash with Critical hit. So, I made it that I had the 40 attack, and then went to training to test it (Yes, I did use a no-custom build for the CPU). 230%.

The most ridiculous thing I saw recently was my Mewtwo bullying my Dorf. I have no idea HOW this happened, but it short-hop F-aired him, then landed and up-smashed him for a KO about 8 seconds into the match. I've never seen it happen again. My best guess is that the extra Critical Hit (damage being tied to knockback, hitlag, and hitstun) hitlag on Mewtwo was cancelled by landing, Ganondorf was still flinching and in hitstun about to be launched, and then Mewtwo somehow caught him before the knockback occurred thanks to up-smash's generous horizontal hitbox and Ganondorf's height.
I'm delighted it happened, yet saddened by never seeing anything like it since.

Accomplishments:
.Training over 60 different amiibo
.Knowing the up and downsides of using Equipment
.Collecting the entire Smash roster thus far
.Being the guy that changes their amiibo nicknames every month or so for no reason
.Having a more combo oriented cast than most people
.Scoring the last amiibo of the stock multiple times
.Having all these amiibo to begin with
-------------------- Failures:
.Farming equipment for hours all for it to be pretty much useless later on
.Hours of training going to waste because I don't try to fix problems myself, but rather, letting the CPU to it
.Spending $45 on a Shulk amiibo
.Donkey Kong
.Wasting time trying to teach Charizard down throw into forward air, even though he won't do it anyway
.Not resetting when I probably should

While training Mewtwo for AWT#6, I kept thinking, 'Gyiyg's kicking loads of ass and all, but I kinda wish he had ImpEsc...' Lo and behold, Mr. 150 had acquired some Escape Artist Pumps during his matches, which he promptly ate. Sure, it buggered his stats a bit, but that's always an easy fix when your Coin Army keeps the fridge stocked with vanilla puddin'pops. Still have lots of training to do before Apr.1, but now his stat & bonus spreads are exactly how I want them.

Training my Smash Ball oriented Pikachu for AWT6, (If you're curious, he has Smash Ball Gravitation, Smash Ball Retention, and Chance of Double Final Smash), and since he's Lvl. 50, I've been having him 1v1 my Peach for some training. One match, I turn on Smash Balls on low on let them fight. Low and behold, Pikachu nabs one, and carries poor Peach all the way to the top of the screen to end her first stock. As soon she respawns, Volt Tackle ends...and then Double Final Smash kicks in! Using this opportunity, he brings her up to 100%, but sadly doesn't get the kill. In a twist of fate, Peach ends up winning the match instead! It was a bit of an emotional roller coaster, to be honest.

You know your amiibo is overpowered when you do a 7v1 against it, and you lose...

I'm honestly here to bring my Amiibo to their highest potential. Nothing more, nothing less. Sometimes, I like to play that "To Be A Man" song from Mulan, especially during the training of my two favorite Amiibo thus far, Lucas and Roy.

Recently bought a used Donkey Kong and Yoshi from Gamestop.
While Yoshi was blank, DK wasn't. A fully grown lv.50 amiibo, so... While I could've kept the name and everything, I changed it to one of my planned nicknames.
And so I went into a few rounds with the newly christened "Moss Kong" to see how the previous trainer fared. I'm not good with DK myself but I noticed some patterns:
1. He'll up-throw into Up-air when in the middle of the stage - a modified version of the ding dong. 2. If recovering high or not trying to Up-air, he'll Up-Smash, sometimes though it's at an angle instead of directly under, allowing a punish. 3. Any time off-stage and not recovering high is dealt with a Forward-Smash, this can easily be dealt with by recovering slightly above to activate the charge and then punishing with a move of choice.
So aside from the many matches where I slipped up, I had been consistent enough to fight him to a draw, and usually winning the sudden death.
Ol' Mossy came with a respectable +70 attack while the other stats were positives below +10, I'm definitely going to change that. I think he'll make a fine training partner, but maybe I'll do the unthinkable and wipe him to start over from scratch and see if anything changes.
