Hi I have a number of amiibo that are best trained passive (olimar, villager, duck hunt) and I was wondering about what stats and effects to give them. So far I've just given Olimar and Villager 3 auto-heals and duck hunt 2 auto heals and improved trade-off defence, but it's not going so well. They're just getting smashed by my other amiibo.

Well kid, first thing's first, passive Amiibo do not do very well overall. They take up huge amounts of time and sort of freak out when getting hit by an onslaught. Passiveness isn't a good choice for almost any Amiibo, so take that into mind.

Oh. Well luckily I was thinking about redoing their style. So, I'm asuuming defence would be the best option for Villager, Olimar and Duck Hunt?

Defense is definitely best for Villager. Olimar and Duck Hunt are some of my only passive amiibos though, and they both have triple auto heal.

But do they perform well with being passive?

My Pikachu was trained passively and then defensively, with Auto heal, Auto heal, and Healing Shield. He's my 4th best amiibo. Passive amiibos are not bad by any means- they are only somewhat boring to watch. Its also only good for amiibo with projectiles, which all 3 of those have. (dont recommend villager with passive play tho) They are also hard to train, but if played with right bonuses and trained correctly, they can JV3 opponents. Passive play is definitely viable, and you should consider it for amiibos with projectiles.
Try teaching them to play a bit of defense, and use the Amiibo 15. Then, after that, do multiple passive play matches to teach your amiibo to be passive, but play defense better. Thats what I did with my Pikachu, and it WORKS.
