Charizard because the world needs more Pokemon amiibo I've never seen very many in tournaments. I entered Charizard in this weeks WAS(#5)

Of all your choices, the two least common tournament amiibo would probably be Charizard and Ness. I recommend you train one of the two; it would be nice to see more of them. Ironic you mention those knowing Ness was my WAS#4 entrant, and Zard is my WAS#5 entrant.

Guess I should say what I ended up doing.
I trained Little Mac to 50 last night, but haven't given him equipment yet (I personally prefer to give equipment after getting to level 50, makes my life easier); probably one of the most mind-numbing experiences I've had (Fsmash... Fsmash... Fsmash...)
and then today I sat down and trained Captain Falcon to 50 and gave him equipment, he's 40/70/10 with explosive shield, escapability, and improved attack in a crisis (temporary until I get another piece of critical hit equipment), he's done decently so far against my other 3 fully equipped amiibo, though I'm probably not going to invest a huge amount of time into him for now

Call me biased, but Lucario can be fun to train, ESPECIALLY if you deck him out with Trade-Off Bonuses. From what I can tell, me and Havok enter our Lucarios pretty frequently, and they usually get pretty far, so they can be quite a threat. But, if you're training a top tier to help prepare your other amiibo, I'd go with Ganondorf or Marth, both of which are prominent and dangerous characters in the meta game. Any experience against a well-trained Ganon/Marth is good experience. Don't forget about me! I love entering my Lucario! My being offended (jk) aside, Lucario is a great start for amiibo training. He was actually the first one I trained.
