If anyone here wanted to host a Doubles Tournament, I have an idea that would make it more interesting.
Aside from being able to enter two of your own amiibo, wouldn't it be great to also have the chance to team up with another trainer's amiibo?
What I'm proposing is that we could hold a doubles tournament with one trainer either sending two of their own amiibo, or sending one amiibo while another trainer also sends one amiibo and they both form one team. It would be fun to form a team with someone else.
This is an idea I've had for quite some time, what do you guys think?

We have actually talked about this for AmiiBrawl exhibitions. We thought it would be fun and different. We would hope that people agreed to make their own teams so we aren't making random pairings, but for those who didnt have a team member would be paired together. Or! We could do random pairing, that would be interesting too.

We'll just have to wait and see if more people like this idea or not. If such a tournament popped up, you can guarantee that I would love to team up with someone else.

I'd certainly like to try a tourney like that. I think it'd be hilarious to see certain amiibo, which never fought before, work together and maybe even pull off some questionable combos. If you've done 2v1 training with your amiibo, you likely know how much amiibo like to combo off of their teammates.

Luckily i havent touched Mario and Dr.Mario since AWT4. They are both really good for doubles.

I think for the most part, most people would rather enter two of their own. But who's to say - I think the idea has some merit, but we would need to have someone who wants to make a doubles tournament.

ChiefGrizzly wanted to host a doubles with this sort of theme going on. This is true. Once we get Amiibrawl up and going, we plan on having two different "shows". One will be the monthly tournament. The other show will be called Amiibo Underground. On this "show", we plan on doing weird or fun tournaments. We have already decided we are going to do a doubles tournament. Will probably put a poll up on whether people want to team with other trainers, or just put their own amiibo in. Or just let people do what they want. Long as we get a team name with two amiibo. Probably limit one S rank per team. IDK details haven't been worked out yet.

Me and my twin ( REDLx ) may be getting a Powersaves to host tournaments soon and might by able to help.

This is very true. However, we are wanting to involve the community alot. If anyone ever wants to help host an episode of AmiiBrawl or Amiibo Underground, we will work with you pkmnmaster and REDLx . Another idea I had was adding random trainers on skype as 3rd wheel commentaters. We really want the community to be super involved in this, and we want tons of feedback from everyone. We should be starting the twitch test within the next week or so. I will post on Twitter when we start, everyone is welcome to come by and get a glimpse of what this will look like. You can follow Amiibrawl at @amiibrawl on twitter. The @ tags on twitter for me and Tmac are the same as on here. @ chiefgrizzly and @ ultraxlax

I think a doubles tourney would be a fun change of pace.

When the doubles tourney pops up, I know who one of my entrants will be! (Did not expect the image to be that big, sorry) I have a feeling that PAC-MAN would be an awesome supporting teammate. On a side note, ChiefGrizzly, if you have a Wii U, you could also have 4v4 battles!

What would you guys rather have? Like each person send in a team of two, or everyone pair up with another trainer? I personally like the pairing of trainers, I think that would be an interesting and fun change of pace. Remember, I am really just wanting Amiibo Underground to be just this fun and exciting thing, not so serious and competitive. I want people to come with an open mind and just enjoy the show.

I could go either way, but I have a stronger preference to teaming up with another.
