So I was scanning Game & Watch into my PowerSaves to lower his level for some Square One training (bless you, Cloud , for coming up with an awesome training method), when I noticed something strange: when I confirmed for a level reset, the program would state an "authenticion" error. No matter how many times I tried, it wouldn't let me reset his level. Feeling if there was a trend, I also scanned R.O.B. and Duck Hunt ( the other two in the "Retro 3 Pack") and tried to reset their levels. I got the same errors as well. What's more, all of them but R.O.B.'s amiibo's backup state could not be loaded into them. (I could still save them as .bin files, though.) I came up with this conclusion: Since I bought the three while I was vacationing in Canada, they won't connect with an American PowerSaves. Does this happen with anyone else?

Wait... new development...
I think it's just my PowerSaves, as it's not letting ANYTHING, be it American or Canadian, change its level.
I'll reset my laptop and see if this fixes it.

Yep, I was kinda right. All I had to do was reboot the PowerSaves.
It's still not letting me access G&W and Duck Hunt's restore saves, though.
I could change G&W's level now, so that's good.

I know my Duck Hunt it would save as Duck Hunt (Smash Bros. Duo) randomnumbersandletters. I had to DELETE (Smash Bros. Duo) and the spaces so that it was like Duck Hunt_randomnumbersandletters

Just open up the file location and delete that if yours is the same way

Huh, that is weird. My Bowser is like that though. It won't let me restore him at all either. I have the .bin files, just no way to restore.

Duck Hunt is one my PowerSaves doesnt allow restores with, but it still saves him to the folder, strange.

The new (white) Powersaves are weird. I've actually had my fair share of problems with it. The same thing happened with my Diddy Kong - I was trying to give it bonuses and it said "there was an error with your character file". I scanned it on the Wii U and it said the data was corrupted. Luckily, I had just scanned the amiibo on the console, so I was able to restore the data.
Needless to say, I use my old (black) Powersaves, which seem to work better for whatever reason. I'd say be careful with the white Powersaves.

Yeah, I can't restore my Game and Watch files unless it's to the Power Tag.

Needless to say I think powersaves is just iffy on what amiibo's .bin files can be restored. I have the same issue with my own Duck Hunt, regardless of what .bin file is backed up, it cannot restore.
I've yet to adjust level, and since Har-Monica is Vanilla, I don't know what would happen should I adjust stats or effects.

After some testing... My Mr. Game and Watch, Duck Hunt Duo, Dr. Mario and Mario (8bit classic) don't work with my device. They don't really have anything in common. Spaces in their name, I guess? On the other hand, Captain Falcon, ZSS and Diddy Kong and Little Mac work fine, though. Odd... The Powersaves device device I have is a black one with a white targeting reticle-like image on one side. As previously stated, I have 4 amiibo which don't work. I can apply changes to them, but I cannot restore data, instead it creates (seemingly) unusable .bin files. Some other odd behavior from my device includes: - Bowser from the Smash series is identified as a skylander. (Wot.) - Ryu is simply named AMIIBO - Falco, Duck Hunt Duo and Mr. Game & Watch's names specify that they're of the Smash bros franchise, despite neither of them having non-smash variants. - Mii Swordfighter is called "Mii Swordsman Hyperman" Okay, I'm doing some testing with BIN names, since altering them can allow readability. It helps me, but maybe it will help you too? Default (Unreadable) | Altered (Readable) | Dr. Mario | Dr Mario | Mario (8 bit classic) | Mario | Mr. Game and Watch (Smash Bros) | Mr Game and Watch | Duck Hunt Duo (Smash Bros) | Duck Hunt Duo |

Huh... Now I'm having problems trying to adjust Wario's stats with the PowerSaves. The error reads that it's unable to load into the character.
After investigation, I've found that I'm not connected to a PowerSaves server. Why is this?
EDIT: Found that I was probably on a server that blocked anything PowerSaves. It works now.

Since I never had a black PowerSaves, I'm only used to the white one. Still thinks it's odd some amiibo save with a weird tag, and some don't restore. I should also add Lucas, Roy, and Ryu all detect as AMIIBO for me.
