well. here we go.
It was a bright, saturday morning. A young boy slept in his bed, wrapped in his blankets. The door in the room creaked open, and a tall, slender woman walked in. She had incredibly long black hair, going down to her feet. She wore plenty of makeup, with some of her hair covering one of her eyes. She always wore a tight, shiny dress in the colors of green, blue, and purple- no matter what occasion. She walked quietly to the bed of the child. She then whispered into his ear. “Hey Nick. You know what day it is?”
The child woke up, seeing that this woman, his mother, had woken him up on a saturday morning, it meant one thing. They would be going to Tomston, the greatest city in the New World. “Mom! We’re going to Tomston!” The child said, excitedly. “Yes, it’s that day. Let’s go, if we leave now, the line for Dave’s Breakfast won’t be too long.” The woman said. The young child hopped out of his bed and ran to get dressed.
This child was about 8 years old, with bright, blue, short hair. He got dressed into a sunday best styled outfit- with a black, button up coat, with 5 red buttons. He wore shiny, leather shoes, and long black pants. He walked out of the closet and walked with his mother. They walked out of the house, and walked to the bus station. As they walked, the mother and son talked about all the fun things to do, like go to Dave’s for breakfast, and go on the sky trams, and see the Fiestiagos play on the corner of 3rd and Gorder at night. The train pulled in, and they got on. Nick’s Mom sat the two at the back of the bus, away from some very odd people. These odd people, were not people. These two people were like birds, in the body shape of a human. They wore clothes, but no shoes. They were a married couple, with a child between them in the seat. Nick, the young blue-haired boy, stuck his tongue out at the odd things. His mother smirked quietly, and then turned her head away quickly from the two things, and clutched her purse.
“Dear Nicholas… let me tell you the story of the land…” said the woman, as she brushed her long, black hair with a brush. “The world used to be a better place… with color, and more people. But one day.. A bad thing happened. A thing too awful and scarring to tell you now. And the humans.. Most of them died.” Said the mother. She stopped for a second to brush her hair. “Then what happened?” Said Nick, eagerly. The thoughts of this story, this history, filled his mind with wonder. “After that event, there was a radiation embedded into the core of the earth that could not be stopped. It made it so no matter what, the earth and everyone on it would be never the same.. That’s the reason people have such colorful hair. Back before things happened, Hair only came in 5 or so colors..” Said Nick’s mother. She stopped again to brush more of her hair. “And it made monsters… awful, awful creations, known as Mutants. They’re like birds in the trees, and deer in the grass- but they walk on 2 legs, and are as big as us! They try to invade our society. And your father… was killed by one.” Nick’s mother pulled out a small mirror, and applied more mascara. “To this day, any respectable human fears and avoids Mutants. But we can just call them Mutes.. Now you know.”
Nick looked out the window of the bus, into a world of colorless plants and skies. Men in big, heavy suits cleaned up the remains of buildings and houses. There were also new buildings, made bigger, stronger, and more eye catching than before. The bus made an abrupt stop, and dropped the passengers off in front of a huge city, with giant, cylindrical buildings. Humans in fancy clothes and mutants in normal clothes walked past each other, without eye contact. This was the city of Tomston, the capital of the New United States. Nick and his mother walked into the city, ready to find adventure in the life of a survivor.

Late that night, after Nick and his mother went back home, A small town nearby was stirring. A town full of things that were not people, but mutants. A mix of animal and man, the town of Barneby was akin to a trailer park. In this town, a small, lamb girl was walking down to another house. She wore a thick jacket, and a pink beret. She had white wool on her head, and green eyes that sparkled with anticipation. She walked to the window of the top of the house, and climbed the nearby ladder she had placed there a week ago. She had climbed in, and closed the window as quietly as she could. She walked over to a bed, with a small, wolf boy in it. The boy had all white fur covering his body, with yellow eyes. He wore a light blue onesie for pajamas. She whispered in his ear. “Hey Moe, I’ve got them!” The young wolf jolted awake, and saw his best friend in front of him. “Bailey.. It’s night! What are you doing here?” She said, quietly. “I got tickets! I got train tickets to Tomston!” She yelled. “What?! But those tickets cost a lot! People in this town don’t have that kind of money!” The wolf said, scared. “But I gots the money!” The small lamb said. “See?” She held out two tickets for the 3:00am train to Tomston. “How!?” The wolf said, surprised. His best friend had just managed to get the one thing they both wanted most- a future. The young girl sighed, and took off her oversized pink beret. “Moe… will you promise not to tell anybody I did this..?” She said, shaking. “Yeah Bailey, I won’t tell!”
Bailey removed the jacket. She had sheared off all the wool on her body, leaving only black skin to be seen. She had only kept the wool on her head. “Bailey… You’re naked!” Moe said. He was heavily blushing. He his his eyes with white, fluffy paws out of respect. “It was the only way to get money. Wool is worth a lot.” She said. “But your wool was pretty…” Moe said.. Bailey looked around. She put the jacket back on. “It’ll grow back, Moe. The train leaves in 1 hour.” She said, shyly. “But… our parents! They’ll think we died!’ Moe yelled. “We won’t be gone forever! My mama has 5 kids, she won’t notice a single thing. I’ll come back after we make it big! So, are you coming?” Bailey said, holding out the two tickets, with a big grin on her face. Moe wouldn’t normally run away from the only home he’s ever known, but the smile on Bailey’s face made it worth it. “Yes. let’s go! Just keep that jacket on!” Bailey laughed, and then grabbed Moe’s paw, dragging him to the window. “H-how do you expect to get down, Bailey?” Said Moe. He looked down at the ground, and shook. “Easy! We jump, you goof!” Bailey said, grabbing Moe once more. “B-but wait! Won’t we get hurt!?” Moe whispered. “Hopefully not!” Bailey shouted. She grabbed Moe’s waist, and jumped down from the 2 story window. They hit the ground, with Bailey breaking Moe’s fall. They got up. Moe shook, realizing he had just jumped out of a window. Bailey got up, but fell down to the ground, and released a cry of pain. “Bailey! Are you okay?!” Moe said, helping her up. “Moe, I think I broke something…” She said, with a tear in her eye. “Oh my gosh… I-I-I’ll carry you!” Moe said, rushed and proudly. “You will? Thanks… This just REALLY hurts…” Bailey said, sadly. Moe put his two arms under Bailey, and lifted her up to his chest. “Hey, Moe, you’re warm… I guess that helps with the fact I have no wool right now!” Bailey said. “Yeah… Yeah!” Moe said, as he run as fast as he could to the station. When they arrived, Bailey showed the tickets to the man at the desk. Moe ran up the train steps, and laid Bailey down on a seat. He put a blanket over her. Moe silently watched as the home he once knew sped out of his reach. He knew he’d live better in Tomston, but he would still miss is parents and friends. “Hey Moe, do you think i’ll find love in Tomston? Do ya?” Bailey said, eagerly. “I want a nice, handsome man to come and sweep me off my feet, and give me a kiss. Thinking about it makes me warm inside…” Moe didn’t know what to say. “Yeah… yeah!” He said.”Do you wanna find love, Moe? Do you wanna find a nice lady?” Bailey said, laughing. “Yeah! I’d take her to the nicest restaurant I could find.. I’d treat her nice, and keep her safe. I’d love her very much.” Moe said, getting quiet at the end. “I’m sure a girl will love ya, you goof!” Bailey said, jokingly. “I’m gonna sleep, it’ll take a whole day to get there by train!” Moe’s eyes darted around. “Have fun counting yourself!” Moe said, jokingly. Bailey laughed, and then closed her eyes. Moe sighed. “If she wanted to find love…” He pulled out a pink envelope. “...She could have just stayed home… With me.” Moe curled up on the adjacent seat, and looked at Bailey one more time. “She’s so pretty..” He whispered, and then closed his eyes.
Sunlight shined through the window, and Bailey shook Moe awake. “Moe! Moe! Wake Up! There’s free food!” Bailey said excitedly, getting louder with each word. Moe woke up, with a plate of Pancakes in front of his face. He licked the melting butter off with his tongue, and then did a big stretch. “Good Morning Bailey… How did you sleep?” He asked. “Good as ever! And my leg feels better!” She said. “The doctor on this train had some medicine, and now I can walk!” She got up, and walked to Moe. “See?” She said, happy. Moe smiled. “We’ll be there in one hour!” Bailey said. Moe looked at the window, and saw the world had a bit more color than usual.
The child woke up, seeing that this woman, his mother, had woken him up on a saturday morning, it meant one thing. They would be going to Tomston, the greatest city in the New World. “Mom!
