Also guys, am I the only one somewhat upset by the fact that every tournament so far has had a gimmick? They've never been direct "okay, let's see whose amiibo is the best" tourneys, it's more along the lines of "let's ban characters and turn on unfair items and see whose amiibo can succeed". AWT4 was doubles with friendly fire on, AWT5 was girls only, AWT6 is pokemon only, and AWT7 will be vanilla only. :/ Was AWT1 like this, or was it just normal? I don't remember seeing it.

Here's a few novel ideas for AWT8- All characters No Items Item-spawning bonuses are banned because they're useless with items turned off Explosive Perfect Shield. Deal with it. Prioritize AWT streaming over other projects while the tournament is going on. This way the event doesn't take nearly a week to conclude.

Its just an audience appeal thing, because not everybody has the time to make their amiibo monsters like you and Dan lol. I believe that the gimmicks are there to give lesser experienced trainers a chance to actually progress. Otherwise, they just keep things interesting for the casuals, if ya get ma drift.

Still, a good normal tournament needs to be around every now and then. Gimmicks are fine, just as long as not all the tournaments are gimmicks.

if it's a gimmick to give lesser trainers a chance, it would be "the op guys are banned" (like mac) and not stuff like pokemon only or vanilla. that stuff is garbage.

I don't really care how long the tournaments take; if Dan doesn't have time to stream them don't call him out for it. I likely wouldn't have that kind of time either.
In this metagame, it's kill or be killed. Trainers need to be able to experience first hand the full extent of this cutthroat meta. What will happen when they join one of my tournaments? It's going to be a true test of skill, not at all a gimmick-fest where the character with the best final smash wins.

Havok Oh I agree, full heartedly. I was just explaining my thoughts on it. Megasparker That's a good point. Cloud True, I only say what I say to try to explain with Dan's mindset.

I'm trying to get a tournament started on Smash Amino for Fox only amiibo because that'd be classic hilarity. Fox only, no items, final destination, etc.
But I agree with everyone here. There has to be a unified and consistent rule set. Dan is trying to garner interest, which is cool, but for the serious Amiibo trainers, we need to have consistent laws so that we know how to train.
