Surprisingly I have not found a thread for custom amiibo yet, so here it is!
I don't have any customs yet, but I just ordered this really cool Sheik/Zelda amii-duo custom online and once my SMB Bowser comes in the mail, I'm gonna try my hand at customizing it. Really all I'm going to do is touch up some minor details and maybe change the hair color... the bright red reminds me too much of cake frosting...
So what about you guys? What customs have you made/ordered or what customs have you seen that look really cool?

I've considered it, but it's a bit pricey (which is to be expected), and rather than spend $60 on one amiibo, I'd rather spend on $60 on 5 or so regularly priced amiibo.

Yeah, I totally understand that. Amiibo collecting is already a pricey hobby without buying expensive customs, especially if you're getting them all. And making them can cost a lot too, depending on what you're doing exactly. I still think they're cool and would gladly dish out some extra money (if I have some... I'm usually broke...) for a really cool unique piece to add to my collection.

Although some custom amiibo are absolutely stunning, it's the concept behind the creation of a custom amiibo that bothers me. The concept of a custom amiibo requires that somebody take the amiibo's figurine and alter it in some way. You can paint over an amiibo and call it a day. Some people alter the pose as well, and some go as far as replacing parts or even the entirety of the figure from the base. Altering a product that's already good in the hopes of making it better when the figure is on the line seems like a gamble that I'm not interested in myself. The amiibo is on the line, and once you start making it a custom, there's rarely ever going back to a regular amiibo.
I understand that custom amiibo can help add some extra flair to your collection, but I prefer my standard figures. They might be ordinary, but each one of them has tiny imperfections, which makes every amiibo I own unique in a way.

There's someone who makes custom amiibo called GandaKris, and I want her to make a Grolla Seyfarth custom using Lucina's amiibo. I'll share an image in the next comment.

I've gone over ROB's panel lines with a gundammarker, if that counts as customizing. One of these days I'll put a hat on Pikachu. Maybe I'll make some tiny blunts and sunglasses to further dankify my already dank collection.

I want to do it so much, but thing is, when I'm all revved up to do something, IDK what to do at that point. I'm creative, but not creative at the same time.
Plus, a little too expensive for my liking. Seems fun, though.

Now, I didn't really want to show off the ones that I did for actual alts (tbh, they aren't very good imo), but I do like these more because I made them closer to their official artwork n' such.
Just adds a bit more spice, y'know?

I like them, that link in particular, those colors bring out his feature more, without being garish. I've wanted to do an immensely original clown car and a custom of this magic: I haven't figured out how I am going to do it however.

Get a sharp craft knife and saw off all 4 heads, then sand your edges. -The side of Falco's head will need a small hole bored into it. 2. Swap heads and attach with modeling glue (I like Tamiya Plastic Cement; use OG, not Extra Thin), after it dries paint if desired. 3. ? ? ? 4. Abominations!
